10mbit at the moment. Thinking of upgrading it to 100mb, would cost me around 70$/month. I pay 40$ for my current connection.

At my real home i just have a plain old 56k modem but i have AT&T acecellrator if i know how to spell it but anyways it goes up to 5X faster than dial-up, i don't think that make a differ because i'm leaving AOL because they lie too much because when i upgraded to 9.0 they said the same thing and it don't work my Mother was also thinking of getting the DSL for it but they want to keep it simple and nice so here i'm am right now i'm on my father's computer in Chicago with the 500MB Broadband Cable internet

why are there thirty and some variations of broadband but no ISDN?

Well, at home I got ISDN, and at the Uni we got some kind of Cable, 100Mbit or so, but usually, and especially over the WLAN, it's slower than ISDN =P (at least it doesn't cost anything, unlike ISDN :|)

limit? what limit? You know you can un-cap your cable limit, right?
yeah, I know it's illegal, but I don't have cable so I'm happy to suggest it :XD:

My 256kbps connection gets me unbelievable pings for online games. I regularly have below-50ms pings on a half dozen or more servers. BUT, it's not fast enough to play online and have anyone else surfin (or browsing DA) without lagging out the gamer.

In other words, this happens between me and my bro -> :bonk:

recently upgraded to 2mb (with only 192 upstream). but hell... 500 downstream is more than enough for acceptable browsing. as you said - 2mb+ are only good for large downloads.

only 192 upload?!? That's a ripoff! I've got a dirt-cheap 256k line with 256k down AND up, and I'm probably going to upgrade it to 768 soon (again, both ways).

By the way the internet qualitie is extremly good! We never have slow internet and it's 98% working (the other 2% are for maintaining, but they usualy happen at night time). We had chello cabel by the way and that sucked and was out most of the time so my father decided to go to ADSL and took the best there whas, good choise I think :D
