I'll agree with the first poster, and add that life gives you very little--and it always comes with a price or conditions. No exceptions. Life is sheer hell...and on top of that, it's an exercise in futility. It's fleeting and ephemeral; nothing lingers, and nothing that the average person does will make an impact. Nature may be beautiful, but that doesn't make it important or worthwhile.

We live only to die, and leave nothing behind but a memory that will fade within generations. So what?

In my opinion nature (and it's beauty) and people (friends, family) are quite the same thing, meaning all that surrounds us from the smallest creature to our mother is a gift.
