ProtoGalaxy by Hameed ProtoGalaxy by Hameed
Full view essential.

Planet rendered in 3dsmax, the planet texture's, nebulae starfield etc all done in photoshop cs. So this is what i imagine a galaxy being born would look like.

again excellent work, looks just amazing. +fav

just an idea: i wonder how it would look if the bright big star/ area on the right of the galaxy, was also a forming galaxy; like our real galaxies sisters/twins the Magellans, just a thought!

Still very, very sweet but I have to say that it doesn't look that much like a protogalaxy to me... When I hear the word 'protogalaxy' I think big, bright, semi-organised violence in the creation of a new galaxy but this is kinda...well... limp is the word that springs to mind... It's a shame because this is a very good piece, I just don't think that the title matches :(

well, imo you didn't have to remove the planet. the planet itself looked pretty nice, it was the glow around it that was disturbing. anyway, good job once again :!:

Awesome, dude. While the original's inclusion of the planet did have a certain goodness, this method is a lot better. Excellent, dude, definitely going right in my favs.

very great work once again... the title really fits, looks like a young galaxy... or at least how one would imagine what it looks like ;P
I don't know where the planet was, but I think I agree, would've destroyed the feeling of this piece...

Reasearching this one was a real hard job, apparently we cant look far out enough in the to universe to find galaxies in thier early stages, because there are none in the visibile universe, which is a real bummer. So this infact is what i imagine one would look like.

Looks great but there are parts I don't care for.

The planet to me looks odd, I think the glow looks weird.

The galaxy is cool but again somthing about it looks weird to me.

I like the colors, lensflares looks great and the textures on the planet are amazing.

I love the tiny effects you added in the stars.
