Aaahh dude...!! That sky is fuckin amazing!! The perspective is sooo good; there is depth aswell as height which is so hard to achieve! What I mean by that is that it feels as if the sky is really going over your head like a canopy - most pictures give the impression that the sky is a wall of color behind the mountains/landscape rather than an all-encompasing ceiling to a planet! And what makes it even better is that the nebula in the centre adds height definition too.... is there anything this sky can't do?!
While I'm here I might as well comment on some other things too!
I like the way the picture is partially framed by the rock formation to the right. The blackness here provides excellent contrast to the bright skies to the left and helps to draw the eye across the picture - moving from the foreground to the far distance!
I'm also a fan of the colurs and the use of silhouettes throughout the piece. I feel pink is an excellent colour to use with black as the contrast created is so extreme.
My only criticism is regarding the dark ripples on the lefthand side of the sea/ocean (or expanse of water to be linguistically correct!). The lack the depth and realsim found in the rest of the image. Perhaps some more highlighting would do the trick!
Well, I've thoroughly enjoyed staring at this picture so thanks for that! I hope some of my comments are useful. In honour of your artictic talents I shall bestow upon thee a and what's more I shall add a for good measure (god only knows why it's taken me this long to watch you rather then me happening upon your latest creations by pure chance!)
Merry Christmas fella and all the best for the New Year!!
