Mh, actually, it is not 6k. It's a blown up LoRes. Not even 2k I guess. For bigger resolutions than yours, goto [link] There you'll find a wide variety of earth textures.
The textures i used are modified versions of the 8K ones shown here: [link] I have been a Celestia user for a very long time, long enough to know that all the cloud maps there are from the same source as mine, and i am aware that the ones you have cared to point out are available. I don't need to do 'blow ups' of low res images, and though i can understand that you don't like the image, saying that this is in fact a 2k image is quite frankly ridiculous.
Fantastic! perhaps the only person I've seen do better is *hoevelkamp but he's set the planet bar really high for all of us anyway. You need to look at movies from as little as 5 or 10 years ago and even some of them don't have a representation of Earth as natural-looking as this (excluding straight out of NASA images of a whole, real Earth which is often recognizable ) The fine bumps in the clouds and effect of light decay add a lot
Still can't believe this is a stock.
You are way too kind.
Really good job Hammie!
