Last submission of this 3D project. Since the model was already done, i thought i may as well do a kind of 'flies eye view' animation of the car.
Some obvious problems with this render are slight over exposure in some areas, and a lot of twinkling across frames, this is mainly due to the render settings being lowered for animation and also video compression and downscaling seem to amplify the effect.
These 4,500 720p frames took around 180hours to render out with a Quad Corei7 975 Extreme.
@02:30Great work! "twinkling" you wrote about is caused by the default 3dmax's glow effect. Algorithm search for requested value and make it "glow", but without option to scale output- that's why it can't decide between "on" and "off" when value is close to parameter- which is problem in 90% of situations. I suggest switching to cebas effects, or playing around with max's effects (scaling output by using few same effects with close values and different output power, or whatever..)
@02:30Hey thanks for the reply very much appreciated, i certainly dont have the same problems with final render, i am using the built in camera glow filter that comes with mental ray, not the max environment glow if thats what your referring to.
Either way the problem is a real pain because you have to render a small sequence each time just to check for it.
